Following the launch of our vision for growth, it’s now time to build deeper roots within our local communities. We want to provide opportunities for our members to play a more active role in both the Well Society and Motherwell Football Club.
Already we’ve made huge strides forward by securing a match at Fir Park for our women’s team and inviting organisations that share our vision and principles to join us in growing our match day attendances. We’re speaking to fans about the women’s game, and looking at how to overcome any barriers to this.
Working with senior staff at the club we’ve now developed a low-cost strategy we believe can increase attendance at next Friday’s Premier Sports Cup quarter-final at Fir Park.
In the run up to the game we’ll be organising a series of leafleting sessions around Lanarkshire, inviting everyone to secure their ticket for Friday night football under the lights. QR codes on the leaflet will allow us to track how many sales we’ve secured and provide data to plan future matches and season ticket campaigns.
We need your help to distribute the leaflets. If you’re able to spare a couple of hours next week that would be fantastic. To volunteer, please register your details in this form and we’ll be in touch.
We’ve produced 200 posters for local businesses to display around our communities to promote the game. This is a mutually beneficial exercise – by helping us promote the game, we’ll help promote local services and businesses on our social media channels and newsletter. Again, these posters will have a QR code to help drive and track sales. If you have a local business and wish to display the posters please let us know by emailing us at members@thewellsociety.uk
As well as the physical leaflets, we’re asking members to look out for the digital version on our social media channels and forward on to friends/family. Particularly those who might not regularly go to Fir Park these days but could be tempted by the experience of Friday night football and, hopefully, cheering the team on to Hampden. Please invite friends along to the quarter-final and help utilise fan power before and during the game.
