Rejoin the well society today call to action

Join us on our journey

As part of our drive to bolster the strength of the Well Society, we are looking to reconnect with members we might not have heard from for a while as well as recruit new members.

We are rightfully proud that our club will always be known as the first fan-owned top-flight football club in the UK. Becoming so was no mean feat – it was a long and arduous, collective and collaborative journey, built upon the time, efforts, and dedication of a whole host of passionate Motherwell fans – passionate Motherwell fans like you.

And that exciting journey is far from over.

With fan-ownership, the possibilities are endless. Just last week, we announced our first strategic partnership with Social Jungle, reflecting some of the aspirations outlined in the summer through the ‘Our Club, Our Future’ growth plan. This week three talented and experienced directors were appointed to the Club Executive Board, including elected Well Society board member Greg Anderson, following a joint recruitment process with club Chief Executive Brian Caldwell and we have also bolstering our own Board further. And we are utilising the Well Society workstreams to drive forward the work that we’re doing to make fan-ownership as successful as possible at Fir Park.

With a revitalised Well Society Board now pushing forward with new ideas and a fresh start at the helm of the football club itself, we are incredibly optimistic about what we can achieve in the future and the improvements that we can make together, not just to the Well Society, but to Motherwell Football Club and what it truly means to be a Motherwell supporter.

But in order to maximise the potential of the journey that we’re on, we are looking to regain the support of those who are no longer contributing financially and those who have yet to join the Well Society.

Times are hard, money is tight, and we completely understand that some Society members will have chosen to cancel their regular payments at some stage as a result of those circumstances. We have no interest in courting monthly contributions from those who cannot afford it.

However, if you can, please do consider helping us to drive both the Society and the Steelmen forward. As the Society Board, we will continue to work closely with the club’s Chief Executive and Executive Board, along with the incredible staff at Fir Park, to build a successful football club both on and off the pitch – but that is only possible with the funds we are able to build through the generous, ongoing contributions of Well Society members.

Those pledges will allow us to continue building the safety net that safeguards our club against financial difficulties, invest in areas of the club that will see tangible progress and improvements, and continue to build our fan-ownership model so that the Well Society is not simply a stagnant bystander, but a proactive and positive force for good.

This is our club and our future – please do consider helping us make that fan-owned future as bright as possible by re-starting contributions or by joining the Well Society.

Well Society board members this week launched a phone campaign to reconnect with some members. We are checking contact details following the integration of a new CRM (customer relationship management) system and have begun the process of reaching out.
