Motherwell is our club and together we’re the majority shareholders of Motherwell FC. In ‘Our Club, Our Future’ we committed to strengthening how we inform, listen to, engage and communicate with you – our members.
In previous editions our weekly update, we’ve talked about how we’re changing how we engage and communicate – from more member sessions and events, new initiatives, communication channels and content.
We’re adding regular content to our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, BlueSky, and Youtube channels, with plans to go even further.
Last year we launched a new Well Society website, and have just launched phase two, packed with information on the club, the society, our fan ownership journey, how we work, what we’re working on and how to get involved.
Supported by Well Society Directors Martin, Gavin and Jason, our volunteer society members are at the heart of our work, driving forward progress in a range of different workstreams and our new digital home is no different.
Our new website has been led by Amy Beeston, a web designer by day and volunteer member of the Communications workstream. Amy has been supported by Ben Oliphant, a graphic designer and Well Society member.
Amy and Ben : Supporting fan-owned football
Amy said: “before creating the new website for the Well Society, I didn’t know much about them or the important role they play in supporting the club. Finding information about them on the main Motherwell FC website wasn’t easy, and they didn’t have the dedicated space they deserved. This new website is vital because it provides a central place for everyone to easily learn about the Well Society and their work. It features key details like the different types of memberships, their timeline and achievements, introductions to the board members, and an easy way to get in touch.
“I was excited to take on this project and think it’s fantastic that the Society is tapping into members’ skills to help them grow. The refreshed board is doing a brilliant job, and the improved communication has been great. Having the website to support that progress is a big step forward.
“I’m looking forward to expanding the website even further and hope it helps everyone better understand and connect with the Well Society”.
Aligned with a refreshed society leadership team came a fresh, bold and clear new visual identity. The new brand look and feel was developed by ‘Well fan and designer Ben Oliphant. Speaking to The Well Society, Ben said:
“It’s great to see the refreshed Well Society be so open, communicative, and ambitious – for me the overall look and feel of the Society has to reflect that push forward. Getting to work with the team has been fantastic, and it’s great to know you’re playing a (very) small part in supporting the Society and the Club going forward.”
Well Society Director, Martin Grey, added:
“As fans we’re passionate about our town and our football, and as members we safeguard what we love through fan-owned Scottish football at Fir Park. Under fresh leadership we’re committed to being open, accountable and accessible to our members, and to working together to drive progress.
“Our members come from all backgrounds, in all corners of the globe. Harnessing the brilliant talents of members like Amy and Ben means we can achieve more, on and off the field. That’s what the Well Society is about.”
