Huge thanks to everyone who joined us last night at Fir Park for a night in the sun, making memories and living the dream with the UK’s first top-flight, fan owned football club.
262 friends, families and supporters paid to join their loved ones, who pulled on the claret and amber in the first team changing room, walked through the tunnel like legends before, and ran on to the Fir Park turf, living the dream.
Under the stewardship of Ahmet Koc, Motherwell FC Assistant Manager, the teams were put through their paces in a pre-match warm up, followed by a team talk by club legends David Clarkson and Richard Tait.
Led out by team captains David Tonner and AlanCampbell, an action packed game saw cracking goals from Davie Tonner, David Hendry, Stewart Lynch, David Fraser. The game ended 2-2, with the winners being the fan community that is the Well Society who this week smashed through the £1m fundraising barrier.
Man of the match for both teams were keepers Cameron McPheat and Paul Marshall who were widely recognised for the quality of their stops between the posts.

The event, organised by Society team Amber Johnstone and Sally Hall, and supported by Greg Anderson, Philip Speedie and Martin Grey, saw £10,000 raised for Well Society funds. The funds will feature as part of the society’s ‘active investment’ strategy to support vital club investment projects.
Speaking on the night, Society Director Amber Johnstone, said:
“What a special night under the Fir Park sun – full of joy, laughter and claret and amber pride.
“On behalf of the Well Society, thank you to every member, every family and every friend who turned out to cheer on their loved ones and support our unique fan-owned footballing journey. Nights like this show what our club is all about – community, connection and commitment. But our work doesn’t stop here. If you believe in what we’re building, help us grow it – sign up a friend or family member to the Society this summer and be part of something special.”
Ahmet Koc, Motherwell FC Assistant Manager, perhaps watching for emerging talent, added:
“The buzz in the changing rooms had the boys feeling like a first-team player. Warming under my guidance, running through the same drills our pros do each week, passing, and tactical positioning.
“Our players shared the pitch with club legends David Clarkson and Richard Tait, who offered tips and encouragement as they found their feet in front of our crowd. The families and friends in the stands were the loudest voices in the stadium. Their cheers fuelled every sprint, every tackle, every goal attempt.
“It was a great night, on behalf of a big week for the society. We wanted to thank you for funding over one million pounds. We really appreciated that and if you ain’t a member yet, please join today.”
