The Well Society’s improved events and fundraising programme will finance a new Fir Park fan zone this summer.
Major upgrades are being made to the area in between the Phil O’Donnell and Tommy McLean stands, where a temporary beer garden has been positioned in recent months.
Plans are under way to install more permanent bar and catering facilities, shelter, seating and family-friendly activities.
The Well Society is funding the transformation through income from our recent programme of events and fundraising activities.
The spending is in line with our new club funding proposals, which ensure members’ contributions are ring-fenced for the reserve fund or essential running costs, while events/fundraising income can go directly into improving areas of the club.
A final cost will be released when the project is complete but the sum is likely to go into five figures. Our research showed the investment can quickly pay for itself in terms of improved income for the club, and could fund further fan zones in other areas of the stadium.

What will be there
Historical Displays: We have liaised with the MFC Heritage Trust to bring a historic aspect to the facilities.
Community Focus: Seating areas, tables, and potentially a small stage for pre-match entertainment or Q&A sessions with former players.
Food and Beverage: A dedicated area for serving drinks, refreshments and food.
Family-Friendly Atmosphere: Activities and entertainment for children to encourage family involvement.
Well Society board member Sean Baillie, who has been leading the project, said: “A positive fan experience goes beyond just watching the game. It encompasses the entire day.
“Providing spaces to come together before and after the game can foster a sense of belonging and connection among supporters, and boost income for the club, which can ultimately help the product on the pitch.
“Fans expect more than just the game itself. They want engaging entertainment, activities, and a vibrant atmosphere.
“Projects like this fan zone can help attract a wider audience and make the matchday experience more appealing.”
An opening date for the new facility is yet to be confirmed but we are on target to complete it during the summer months.
Further details and updates on the progress will be issued in July.
