Mrs Baillie’s Bar is open from noon ahead of Motherwell’s home game against Kilmarnock following further upgrades to the fan zone in recent weeks.
As well as drinks, food will be on offer from Spudz, a new local business specialising in baked potatoes with fillings, which is based on Hamilton Road, Motherwell.
The Well Society has utilised income from events and fundraising activities to help finance a summer transformation of the area – which is situated in the corner of the area between the Phil O’Donnell and Tommy McLean stands.
The project was selected in a bid to boost income for the club and enhance the match day experience for Well Society members and other Motherwell fans.

The new bar in the beer garden area got its first outing ahead of the 1-1 draw against Hertha Berlin in July and has been fitted out in appropriate fashion since then.
The wooden bar is named after the pub where Motherwell Football Club was established at a meeting in May 1886. The pub, then run by Mrs Baillie, is believed to be the current Railway Tavern in Merry Street.
The area outside the bar, which includes a series of picnic tables constructed by the Lanark Men’s Shed, has also undergone further improvements.

Lanark Men’s Shed has about 40 active members and is part of an organisation designed to offer older men the chance to connect with each other, stay active and productive, and learn new skills.
The fan zone project remains a work in progress – partly because recent wet weather has affected progress – but further improvements will be made as the season progresses.
See you at the bar!
