The Well Society’s ground-breaking education course for members is fully subscribed.
Our maximum sign-up tally for the online course was filled ahead of the deadline for registration on Thursday after 25 members expressed an interest in taking part.
‘The People’s Game: An Introduction to Supporter Ownership and Community Building’ is the first course of its kind in Scottish football.
Built by the fans, for the fans, this free online course is exclusively available to Well Society members as part of their membership benefits.
The curriculum has been developed by David Stewart, a senior lecturer in history at the University of Lancashire, in consultation with fellow Well Society members.
The course – delivered over seven sessions – explores the history, principles, and future of supporter ownership, while highlighting how collective fan power can strengthen football clubs and local communities.
Participants will also have the chance to contribute their ideas directly to the Well Society Board, helping shape the future of supporter ownership at Motherwell Football Club and beyond.
Everyone who completes the course will receive a Well Society Certificate of Achievement, presented at a special Fir Park event later in the season.
“This course is a landmark moment for the Well Society and Scottish football,” said Derek Watson, chair of The Well Society. “We’re proud to empower our members with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to play an even bigger role in shaping the future of our club and community.”
