As partnerships go, it may not be up there with Pettigrew and Graham – but a small collaboration will help boost funds for the next phase of Fir Park’s Fan Zone.
Terrace culture clothing brand Daft Laddie made a £100 donation to The Well Society following sales of their semi-final T-shirts. ‘The Cup Ties that Bind Us’ depicts Motherwell fans through the ages, a theme which Matt Johnstone from Daft Laddie and Sally Hall from the Society looked at a few years back.
Matt explains: “I’d been pottering with the idea and the Society were thinking about a T-shirt design on the ‘Evolution of Fan’ which we talked about. We never quite managed to realise the plan for various reasons – mostly because neither of us could draw and my designer was busy!”
Fast forward several months and sales of the grey tee have gone well. Matt popped into the office this week to make the donation to acknowledge the Society’s part in the groundwork.
Greg Anderson, of the Society’s Events workstream, said: “This donation will go into the pot for the next phase of the fan zone, including providing more cover in the colder months. Donations like this, and income from our events, goes directly to projects which seek to improve the match day experience for our members and the wider fanbase. Thank you to Matt for the donation!”
The popular tee remains ON SALE HERE, with a cut of future sales coming back to the Well Society.
