International Men’s Day on 19th November, is the global day dedicated to recognising and celebrating the positive value of men in their families, communities, workplaces wider society. This year’s theme, “Positive Male Role Models”, aligns firmly with the values of The Well Society.
Together, alongside our partners, we’re committed to championing men’s mental health and creating spaces where men can thrive — on and off the pitch.
As Scotland’s first top-flight, fan-owned football club, Motherwell FC and The Well Society understand the power of community. We’re proud to partner with Motherwell Football Club Community Trust and SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) to support men in our communities to tackle the stigma around mental health and encourage meaningful conversations. Together, we’re creating opportunities for men to connect, reflect, and invest in their wellbeing.
This week, we’re hosting the latest in a series of “The Changing Room” sessions at Fir Park, designed to foster a safe, football-themed environment where men can enjoy some banter while addressing what’s really going on in their lives. These sessions are a chance to talk openly, share experiences, and find encouragement from peers and positive male role models.
Football has a unique way of bringing people together. The beautiful game unites us, breaks down barriers, and builds trust. Through initiatives like ‘The Changing Room’, we’re tapping into that unifying power to support our community. Whether you’re a lifelong Well fan or just looking for a place to feel heard, these sessions are for you.
If you’d like to join us, the next session takes place this Thursday at Fir Park. It’s free, open to all men over 16, and a great chance to meet others, enjoy some football chat, and take the first step toward better mental health.
